Euro transportation norms

Euro emission standards determine the maximum authorized polluting emissions limits for trucks (limit mass for of Oxides of Nitrogen Nox, Monoxide of Carbon CO, Hydrocarbons HC and Nox, Particles PM, emissions in mg/km).

They aim to the air pollution due to road transport reduction.

They apply according to the vehicle start of use date, as specified below:

• Euro 0: start of use after 1988
• Euro 1: start of use after 1993
• Euro 2: start of use after 1996
• Euro 3: start of use after 2000
• Euro 4: start of use after 2005
• Euro 5: after September 2009 for the reception and January 2011 for new vehicles registering
• Euro 6: after September 2014 for the reception and September 2015 for new vehicles registering
