Supply Chain Event Management SCEM

The term indicates all processes, operations and supply chain information systems aiming at steering the supply chain.

Here, by steering, we mean: to control, to measure and to adjust the Supply Chain.These functions play the role of an intermediary between field operations and planning, more theoretical.

The associated information systems, generally called SCEM modules provide to supply chain planning modules an information feedback about field events. The SCEM is thus going to link on one hand, the field (Supply Chain Execution SCE) and on the other hand the theory, the modelling and the planning (Supply Chain Planning SCP)

Newer than SCP and SCE, the SCEM solution concept is the link that lacked in Supply Chain Management, in order to make it a complete servo system: SCP defines and plans, SCE executes then SCEM pilots, measures and raises to SCP the field information, SCP adjusts its definition and planning …
